Insurance
If you have dental insurance you undoubtedly have questions about how to access your benefits.
The first thing you need to determine is whether or not you are in an HMO (health maintenance
organization). HMO's require you to go only to their doctors...if you go elsewhere they will
not pay your benefits, so check this first. If, like most people, you have private insurance
through your employer you can go to any dentist you want to. Your private insurer may encourage
you to visit a participating dentist, though. A participating dentist is one who has agreed to
a table of maximum allowable charges. Your employer can provide you with a list of participating
dentists in your area, however, these lists are often outdated, so here is a list of the insurance
companies we participate in:
Aetna Dental Fund
Aetna PPO
Altus Dental Inc.
BXBS of RI or MA
BXBS FEP (Federal Employees Program)
Delta of RI
Delta USA PPO (Premier)
Delta USA Preferred or Plus Premier or Tricare Retirees Program
Dentemax
Guardian (Dental Guard Preferred)
Humana Military Healthcare Services/TDC Dental Co./TRICARE Selected Reservists Dental Program
Medicare Advantage
Metlife
Mutual of Omaha
United Concordia (Tricare) active duty
United Health/Dental Benefit Providers/Lincoln
If you have private insurance and don't see your company listed here, can you still see
Dr. Kehew? Yes! In that case you would be billed for the difference, if any, between what
your insurance company pays and Dr. Kehew's fees. As a service to our patients we will
estimate your copayments for you.
